1. FIND OUT ABOUT FIREWALLS Go to the Web and find out about software and hardware that protect your computer and home network, respectively. If you have only one computer connected to the Internet, then a software firewall like Zone Alarm will most likely be enough protection from intruders. Find three different firewall software packages on the Web. A good place to start looking would be the sites that sell anti-virus software. Compare the firewall software on price and features.
